We use and recommend this excellent jointing compound for crankcase use. Always apply a minimal amount with a small soft brush to both faces. It is also useful for holding gaskets in place on inspection covers. Remember, however that all case joint gaskets should be used dry. Never use silicone or “plastic gasket” type compounds as the excess from these can block vital oilways.
